Welcome to the official South African Kitesurfing Association (SAKA) website. Together with the (SAS) South African Sailing Association our objectives are-

To promote all aspects of the sport of kitesurfing in South Africa and encourage excellence in it.
To represent kitesurfing in South Africa by ensuring excellence in competition management and judging.
To establish South Africa as a premier kitesurfing destination.
To grow awareness about the sport in the local community at large.
To support and grow the South African kitesurfing industry.
To support and grow the South African kitesurfing retail industry.
To ensure that the IKA and ISAF sailing regulations are enforced.
To create World Champions.

Why do we need a kitesurfing association ?

A kitesurfing association or club is the lifeblood of the sport ensuring a local point of contact for any issues that may arise locally.

Councils and bodies prefer to talk to associations or clubs - you look organized - it is one point of contact for them.

It is important to form an association or club to maintain access and growth of the sport
Do you want to lose the right to use the beach /access for your kitesurfing
and events ?

An association or club can highlight that there is a group of organized people as a point of contact - it is better to inform and create relationships before any problems occur.

We need to educate - not confront !!!
